Timing : 2 pm to 6 pm on both days
Class by KN HARI DAS
This two-day urban sketching watercolor workshop will demonstrate the process
that Hari follows to arrive at a final painting — from planning to execution of a scene.
Day 1
In this session, Hari will explain the methods he uses to achieve the following:
-Perspective (specific to his sketching approach)
-Lighting and how to preserve it
-Working with a limited palette
-Composition, scene selection, and framing
-Coloring — textured vs. flat areas
-Easy ways to handle skies and washes
-General tips and tricks
We will sketch and paint a simple urban scene together.
Day 2
We’ll move on to sketching and painting a relatively complex urban scene.
Step 1: Hari sketches in pencil

Step 3: Hari demonstrates the painting process
Throughout these steps, participants are encouraged to ask questions — the session
will be interactive, with on-the-go clarifications.
Step 4: Participants sketch in pencil
Step 5: Participants sketch in pen
Step 6: Participants complete their painting
During these steps, Hari will give individual attention to each participant, helping them
achieve their best results and clarifying all doubts and queries.
