Whimsical Watercolor Landscapes – 2-Day Workshop

Dates: May 3rd & 4th

Time: 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Level: Beginner-friendly (Ages 12 to adult)

Watercolor is a magical medium—fluid, spontaneous, and full of charm. In this two-day class, we’ll dive into the art of creating loose, whimsical landscapes using a minimal color palette to bring out beauty in simplicity.

Whether you're completely new to watercolor or looking to refresh your basics, this class will help you ease into the medium with confidence and creativity.

Day 1: Foundations & Flow

  • Understanding watercolor as a medium
  • Color wheel study – learning how colors interact and harmonize
  • Exploring essential techniques (wet-on-wet, layering, blending)
  • Getting comfortable with color mixing using a minimal palette
  • Practicing textures and brushstrokes inspired by nature

Day 2: Bringing it Together

  • Applying what you've learned to create a complete landscape piece
  • Learning to simplify compositions
  • Embracing loose, expressive strokes
  • Tapping into your intuition to add character and mood

This workshop is all about letting go of perfection, trusting the process, and discovering yourown artistic voice while painting serene, storybook-like landscapes.

About the teacher:

Hi, I’m Srujana – a watercolor artist with over 8 years of experience exploring the beautiful unpredictability of this medium. I’m deeply drawn to landscapes, urbanscapes, and especially scenes with boats and water reflections. My style leans toward the loose and expressive, focusing

more on capturing the mood and essence of a scene rather than intricate details. With this workshop you would embrace imperfection, paint freely, and find joy in the process.
